Amazfit, the US-based smart wearables brand owned by Zepp Health, has announced a partnership with elite marathon runner Amanal Petros. The German record holder, who recently achieved the third-fastest marathon time in European history, will train using the Amazfit Balance 2 and Helio Strap.

Petros has represented Germany in long-distance running for over a decade. His performance at the 2025 Valencia Marathon saw him finish with a time of 2:04:03, a 55-second improvement on his previous personal best. His career also includes a silver medal at the most recent World Championships and national records in the 10km (27:32) and half marathon (59:31).

Data from the partnership launch highlighted the athlete’s performance metrics during his Valencia run. Petros maintained an average pace of 2:57/km, covering the final 2km at a pace below 2:50/km with a stride length exceeding 2m. According to the company, Petros remained in heart rate zone four (152–170 bpm) for the majority of the race, never entering the highest fifth zone.

Jesús Carrero, General Manager of Zepp Health EMEA, said “We are incredibly excited to welcome Amanal Petros to Team Amazfit. He is an outstanding athlete whose talent and determination have been proven not only by his recent race in Valencia but by his entire career.”

Amanal Petros said “This year has been exceptional for me, but my records would not have been possible without years of hard work. Today I am doubly happy – Amazfit has recognised and valued my long-term commitment, while also offering outstanding sports wearables.”

Petros added “In Valencia I ran the marathon with Amazfit Balance 2, so I had an excellent point of comparison in terms of measurement accuracy. In this respect, the Balance 2 was outstanding. It recorded the distance almost perfectly and measured my pace very accurately, which was crucial for the race strategy I had chosen.”

The partnership follows a busy 2025 year for Petros, which included races in London and Tokyo. His next major objective is the London Marathon, where he will continue to use Amazfit technology for training and race support.

Amazfit is an international brand specialising in smartwatches and fitness trackers. It is part of Zepp Health, a company focused on health-integrated technology and wearable devices.
