The host venues for the 2026 Lloyds Tour of Britain Men have been announced by British Cycling Ventures, with the race set to begin in Lincoln on September 2, 2026.
The five-stage international event will travel through Lincolnshire, East Yorkshire, and North Yorkshire before reaching its conclusion in Earlston, Scottish Borders, on September 6, 2026.
As the national governing body for cycling in Great Britain, British Cycling oversees the development of the sport from grassroots through to the elite level. The Lloyds Tour of Britain Men is part of the UCI ProSeries, positioned as one of the most prestigious events on the international cycling calendar.
The 2026 route marks a return to several established cycling hubs while introducing new host locations. The opening stage will feature a start and finish in Lincoln, a city that annually hosts the Lincoln Grand Prix. This will be the first time a national Tour has visited the city in more than 30 years.
Stage two begins in the market town of Boston and travels across Lincolnshire to a coastal finish in Skegness. While Skegness was a frequent host of the Milk Race up until 1991, this will be its first time hosting the modern iteration of the Lloyds Tour of Britain.
The third stage moves into East Yorkshire, starting in Hull and finishing in Beverley. Hull last hosted a stage start in 2008, while Beverley previously hosted a stage finish in 2023. The region has a history of hosting major cycling events, such as the Tour de Yorkshire and the 2019 UCI World Road Racing Championships.
Stage four takes the peloton through North Yorkshire, departing from Helmsley and concluding in Leyburn. This penultimate day of racing will traverse the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales. The final stage will then take place in the Scottish Borders, with a new start–finish location in Earlston, situated approximately 45 minutes from Edinburgh.

We are bringing new hosts and stages in Lincoln, Boston and Skegness, and Leyburn, and it is fantastic to return to previous hosts of the race in Hull and Beverley, Helmsley, and the Scottish Borders.”
He added “Taking the Tour to Lincoln for the first time, a city synonymous with its love for cycling, will be special for the opening stage of the men’s race, before the route winds its way up the east coast via North Yorkshire, before reaching the Scottish Borders in Earlston.”
The 2026 stages are:
Stage 1 (September 2, 2026): Lincoln – Lincoln
Stage 2 (September 3, 2026): Boston – Skegness
Stage 3 (September 4, 2026): Hull – Beverley
Stage 4 (September 5, 2026): Helmsley – Leyburn
Stage 5 (September 6, 2026): Earlston – Earlston
The economic impact of the event is significant for host regions. Research by GSIQ indicated that the 2025 Lloyds Tours of Britain generated a cumulative economic impact of £62.3 million for local areas across its ten stages.
Detailed route information for the five stages, as well as host locations for the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women, are expected to be announced this month or in the coming weeks.
