The 2026 IRONMAN Poland race season is expected to break historical participation records, with high demand for places across its four event locations. The announcement was made during a season launch conference by Michał Drelich, Race Director at IRONMAN Poland, who stated that registration numbers are trending toward a complete sell-out for the year.
According to IRONMAN’s Polish event organiser, Sport Evolution, the Enea IRONMAN 70.3 Warsaw event is set to host 2,500 athletes on June 7, 2026. This figure represents a participation record for an IRONMAN 70.3 race in Poland, surpassing previous attendance highs seen in Gdynia in northern Poland.
Michał Drelich, Race Director at IRONMAN Poland said “In Warsaw, 2,500 people will start. This is an absolute record in the history of the IRONMAN 70.3 series in Poland. There were not so many participants at this distance even in the best times in Gdynia, and these were the only such competitions in Poland at that time.”
The 2026 calendar in Poland features four IRONMAN 70.3 races held in Warsaw, Gdynia, Poznań, and Kraków. While places are still available for Warsaw, Poznań, and Gdynia, the Enea IRONMAN 70.3 Kraków event has been sold out for a number of weeks.
The return of Gdynia to the schedule on July 19, 2026, has been highlighted as a significant move for the series. The city, which hosted the first-ever IRONMAN events in Poland, returns after a one-year hiatus.
Paweł Brutel, Director of the Gdynia Sports Center said “This is one of the most important events in the Gdynia calendar. We are returning to where we belong. The history of Polish IRONMAN competitions began in Gdynia, and we have many years of excellent cooperation and a mass of wonderful memories behind us.”
The economic impact of the series remains another factor for the host cities. A recent report by Deloitte indicated that the events generate over PLN 40 million in added value for local economies. This growth is primarily driven by visitors, particularly those from outside Poland, who utilise local hotels and restaurants.
Aleksander Łaszek at Deloitte said “An over 40 million PLN increase in added value for the economies of host cities. This is an amount generated primarily by visitors, to a large extent from abroad, because they are the ones who leave money in hotels and restaurants and in this way drive the local economy.”
For the 2026 season, Enea continues its long-term involvement as the title sponsor for the entire Polish series. The brand has been a partner of the events for 12 years. Other partners include Citi Handlowy, which will enter dozens of corporate relay teams, and new supporters such as Makarony Czanieckie, Wessper, and 226ers.
Professional Polish triathletes are also expected to feature prominently across the series in 2026. Robert Wilkowiecki, the Polish record holder for the full IRONMAN distance, expressed his intention to compete in all four domestic races during the season. Kacper Stępniak, the 70.3 Polish record holder and winner of IRONMAN 70.3 Kraków 2025, also confirmed plans to race at least twice in Poland.
Inclusivity continues to be a focus for the series organiser. Sport Evolution recently received a ‘Friend of Paralympic Sport’ award from the Polish Paralympic Committee for its efforts in integrating athletes with disabilities.
Łukasz Szeliga, President of the Polish Paralympic Committee said “What is happening at IRONMAN Poland competitions is inclusivity in full swing, because despite different mobility possibilities, para-athletes cover the same distances and take part in competitions in parallel with able-bodied athletes.”
