The Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series has announced Quito in Ecuador as its newest host city, marking an expansion for the international running circuit into South America.
Organised by local sports production company ANDESPORTS in partnership with series owner The IRONMAN Group, the inaugural Marathon Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Quito is scheduled to take place on November 22, 2026.
Situated at an elevation of 2,400m above sea level, the high-altitude event will feature 10km and half marathon (21km) distances. The event is designed to attract runners of all abilities, including individual athletes, running clubs, families and corporate teams.
Participants will run along the capital city’s main avenues before finishing at the historic Plaza San Francisco, located within Quito’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Historic Center. True to the format of the international series, live music stages and on-course entertainment will be positioned at every kilometre, concluding with a post-race finish line festival and live concert.

ANDESPORTS has more than 20 years of experience managing mass-participation sporting events across triathlon, running and cycling. The company has held the official IRONMAN 70.3 Ecuador licence for 11 years and also produces the 5I50 Salinas–Ecuador triathlon.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series was established in 1998 and is managed by The IRONMAN Group, which operates a global portfolio of participation sports events across more than 50 countries. General registration for the new Ecuadorian event is scheduled to open soon.
