The IRONMAN Group has unveiled the 2027 Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series schedule, featuring 16 triathlons across Europe, the Middle East, North America and Oceania between February and October 2027.
The fourth season of the elite athlete series comprises six full-distance IRONMAN triathlons and 10 IRONMAN 70.3 triathlons, culminating in the Precision Fuel & Hydration IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Chattanooga, TN, and the IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, HI.
The 2027 calendar introduces seven new destinations to the series. The IRONMAN Lanzarote triathlon makes its series debut, alongside five new IRONMAN 70.3 events in France, Germany, Oman, Spain and Sweden, while an event in Canada returns to the circuit. The upcoming season will also see female and male professional athletes race on the same weekend at every event on the schedule.
Scott DeRue, CEO of The IRONMAN Group, said “As we prepare to enter the 2027 Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series, we are incredibly proud of the engagement and excitement the series has generated over its first three years.
“The IRONMAN Pro Series has consistently brought together the best professional triathletes in the world, delivering hard-fought racing in iconic locations with incredible fan engagement and community support. We are particularly excited to welcome seven new races to the series in 2027 for another unforgettable year of racing.”
The circuit opens in February 2027 with the Experience Oman IRONMAN 70.3 Muscat Middle East Championship, before moving to Oceania in March for the ANZCO Foods IRONMAN New Zealand and IRONMAN 70.3 Geelong triathlons. In April, the series travels to North America for the Athletic Brewing IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside and the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas North American Championship, with IRONMAN 70.3 Valencia in Spain scheduled between the two events.
In May 2027, IRONMAN Lanzarote makes its debut in the series before racing returns to North America for IRONMAN 70.3 Pennsylvania Happy Valley. The mid-season schedule splits across Europe and North America, featuring IRONMAN 70.3 Tours Métropole – Loire Valley, IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant, and the Mainova IRONMAN Frankfurt European Championship. The Frankfurt event will feature female and male professionals competing on the same weekend for the first time since 2022.
Following Frankfurt, the series continues at IRONMAN 70.3 Jönköping in Sweden, before heading to North America for the Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid. The IRONMAN 70.3 Leipzig triathlon in Germany serves as the final event before the championship leg. The season concludes with the Precision Fuel & Hydration IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Chattanooga, TN, followed six weeks later by the IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, HI.
All series races will be broadcast live and free internationally, including on proseries.ironman.com and YouTube.
The series remains open to all eligible professional triathletes. Rankings are calculated using an athlete’s top five race performances of the year, with a maximum of three full-distance IRONMAN results counting towards the total.
Athletes earn points based on finish times relative to the winner. A first-place finish awards 5,000 points for an IRONMAN triathlon and 2,500 points for an IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon. Victory at the IRONMAN World Championship yields 6,000 points, while winning the Precision Fuel & Hydration IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship awards 3,000 points. Points are deducted for every second an athlete finishes behind the event winner.
The end-of-year bonus prize pool pays out US1.7 million to the top 1–50 ranked athletes, with the top male and female champions each receiving US$200,000. Individual events offer an additional US$2.5 million in prize money.
