The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.), the non-profit organiser of the Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America, has named Runna as the Official Running Training Plan Partner for the event and the B.A.A. Distance Medley Series presented by Honda.
B.A.A. was established in 1887 and is managing the 130th Boston Marathon, which is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 20, 2026. The race is part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, alongside international marathons in Tokyo, London, Sydney, Berlin, Chicago, and New York City.
Runna is a subscription-based coaching app founded in 2021 that provides personalised plans for distances ranging from a first 5k to an ultramarathon. It was acquired by Strava in 2025.
As part of the Runna x Boston Marathon agreement, event participants will receive complimentary extended access to Runna’s training plans. These plans are created by coaches and tailored to individual experience levels, combining structured workouts with strength training and mobility guidance.
Katie Goble, Head of Partnerships at Runna said “The Boston Marathon is steeped in heritage – to be named Official Running Training Plan Partner by the B.A.A. – an organization with such a rich legacy, is an honour.
“We’re incredibly proud to be named the Official Running Training Plan Partner of the most preeminent marathon in the world. This partnership allows us to support runners taking on the most iconic and demanding marathon course in the world, helping them arrive at the start in Hopkinton confident, prepared, and ready to perform.”
Jack Fleming, B.A.A. President and CEO, said “The Boston Athletic Association’s mission is centred around promoting healthy lifestyles through sport, especially running.
“This vision is shared by Runna, and together we look forward to helping athletes get to the start line ready to run their best, no matter if it is their first 5K or the Boston Marathon. We focus not only on producing great road races and programming, but also on ways to make the entire participatory experience as rewarding as possible.”
