UK retailer Runners Need has launched the first running apparel collection from Ayacucho, an outdoor brand founded in 2009. The new range is designed to offer technical performance gear at accessible price points for athletes at all levels.
The collection includes a versatile range of men’s and women’s apparel, according to the retailer. The products feature lightweight construction and moisture-wicking fabrics, with technical elements such as UV protection, anti-odour technologies, and reflective detailing for improved visibility.
The products in the men’s range include the Berlin Technical Running Shorts (£30), Rio 2-in-1 Running Shorts (£38), Athens T-Shirt (£25), Oslo Long Sleeve T-Shirt (£30), and the Nagano Quarter Zip Top (£38).
For women, the collection features Montreal Leggings (£42), Rio 2-in-1 Running Shorts (£38), Barcelona Tank Top (£20), Kyoto T-Shirt (£25), Tokyo Long Sleeve T-Shirt (£30), and the Helsinki Crew Neck Jumper (£40).
Ayacucho was named after a region in Peru and was established with a focus on creating quality gear while supporting community initiatives. Through a partnership with Solid International, the brand has supported social enterprises in Peru, Kenya, and India. It continues to donate 1% of its revenue to these projects.
The expansion into the running category is described as a natural evolution for the brand, which previously focused on general outdoor equipment. The new apparel is intended for everyday training and fitness sessions as well as outdoor performance.
Retailer Runners Need, which is hosting the launch, specialises in providing gait analysis and technical clothing for the endurance community. The new collection is available through its retail channels from this month.
