Swiss sportswear brand On and the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) have officially unveiled a new ‘Azzurri’ national team kit, marking a milestone in their multi–year technical partnership.
The collaboration, which was revealed in Milan on February 19, 2026, aims to combine Swiss engineering with Italy’s athletic heritage. Beyond equipping the elite national team, the partnership is designed to support the next generation of Italian talent and provide a holistically supported pathway for athletes’ careers.
The 2026 kit features an aesthetic evolution based on a ‘Mysterious Beauty’ design concept. It incorporates the historic Savoy Blue, a shade synonymous with the House of Savoy that unified Italy in 1861. This is paired with a ‘Warp Dots’ graphic inspired by deep-sea bioluminescence, intended to represent the resilience of athletes under pressure.
Olivier Bernhard, Co-Founder of On, said “Our partnership with FIDAL represents a deep commitment to Italian athletic passion and launches a pivotal new chapter for On on the world stage of athletics.
“This is more than a sponsorship; it is a commitment to ignite the next generation of talent and connect with Italy’s most passionate sporting communities.”
Stefano Mei, President of FIDAL, said “We are thrilled to welcome On as our new technical partner during such a pivotal era for Italian athletics. Together, we are providing our athletes with the best possible tools to succeed on the world stage while building a lasting legacy for the entire Italian athletics community.”
The partnership has resulted in apparel including:
- Technical Race Gear: Aerodynamic skinsuits and singlets featuring laser-cut finishes and ultra-lightweight fabrics for thermoregulation.
- Ceremonial & Travel Collection: A lifestyle-focused range for podium ceremonies and travel, designed for comfort and professional representation.
- Unified Identity: Bespoke collections for official FIDAL staff and event volunteers to ensure a cohesive identity across all federation operations.
As the federation’s Official Technical Sponsor, the Swiss brand will be represented at major international milestones such as the European and World Athletics Championships. In Italy, the brand will have a presence across the domestic calendar, including the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea, the Italian Indoor Championships, and various youth championships from U16 to U23 levels.
On has recently expanded its international athlete roster significantly. On January 26, 2026, it welcomed double Olympic gold medallist Soufiane El Bakkali, followed by Swiss track star Mujinga Kambundji on February 9, 2026. On February 12, 2026, the company also announced the signing of British triathlon star Kat Matthews.
Founded in the Swiss Alps in 2010, On is now present in more than 80 countries internationally. The company is known for its CloudTec and LightSpray innovations in high-performance footwear and apparel.
