Switzerland-based sports brand SCOTT has officially unveiled its all-new Kinabalu Trail, marking a redesign for the product line. According to the company, the shoe has been built from the ground up to represent a new era for its SCOTT Running division, focusing on speed and agility.
The launch, announced from the company’s international headquarters in Givisiez, Switzerland, introduces a shoe designed to balance lightweight performance with comfort for various trail conditions.
The Kinabalu Trail features Kinetic Fusion Foam, a new midsole material that combines EVA and PEBA. This is intended to provide a responsive ride that remains durable over longer distances. Underfoot, the shoe utilises Versatile Traction technology, featuring a redesigned lug geometry to maximise ground contact and grip on technical terrain.
Efficiency is a key focus of the design, which incorporates ER2 Rocker Technology. This evolved rocker shape is designed to reduce heel strike impact and promote smoother forward momentum, encouraging a more dynamic running position.
The shoe’s specifications include:
- Stack height: 33mm/27mm
- Heel to forefoot drop: 6mm
- Approximate weight: 250g (men’s) and 220g (women’s)
The Kinabalu Trail is also available in a GORE-TEX version, providing waterproof and breathable protection for wet weather conditions.
The launch coincides with a new brand campaign from SCOTT Running titled ‘Every Line Tells A Story’. This campaign centres on the idea that every runner’s journey is unique, focusing on the personal narratives formed between the start and finish lines of a run.
The new Kinabalu Trail will be available for purchase starting February 9, 2026.
