Global swimwear brand Speedo has launched Speedo iQ, a new connected swim technology platform designed to transform how swimmers train, race, analyse performance and improve.
Unveiled on August 26, 2026 in London, the system combines Speedo goggle hardware with an intuitive digital platform to deliver post-swim feedback without causing distraction in the water. Developed by the company’s innovation team over a number of years, the technology provides real-time tracking that translates into detailed post-swim performance data. Swimmers can access insights covering pace, distance, head position, breathing and turn analysis to review after completing their sessions.
The hardware is integrated into the latest evolution of Speedo’s Vanquisher training goggle. It features a removable smart module engineered to ensure it does not compromise fit or vision. Paired with the dedicated Speedo iQ mobile application, the setup gives athletes a clearer understanding of their movement in the water, helping them identify specific areas where they can refine technique and train smarter.
Speedo iQ is currently the only wearable swim technology capable of capturing data across all four strokes. It has also received official approval from World Aquatics, allowing competitive athletes to wear the tech during official races. This means swimmers can race in the exact same goggles they use for daily training while unlocking comprehensive post-swim insights, including head playback functionality.
According to the company, unlike traditional swim tracking devices, Speedo iQ has been purpose-built around the unique demands of swimming. It captures performance metrics specific to the sport in an accessible format created to benefit grassroots beginners, club swimmers and elite competitors alike. The system provides coaches with accurate data to focus on technical refinements, while helping athletes train with greater purpose.
Robert Ashcroft, Senior Vice President, and Brand Director at Speedo said “For nearly 100 years, Speedo has pushed the boundaries of innovation to help swimmers perform at their very best. With Speedo iQ, we’re taking the next major step in that journey – bringing intelligent performance insights to swimmers of every ability and changing the way people understand, experience and improve their time in the water.”
Adam Peaty, three-time Olympic Gold medallist, said “Data is absolutely everything, especially when we’re fighting for margins of one, two % or even less than that.”
Furthermore, Nate Tracy, Vice President of Innovation Design & Future Concepts at Speedo said “Whether you’re an Olympic athlete chasing marginal gains, a club swimmer striving for a personal best or someone building confidence in the pool, Speedo iQ has been designed to deliver meaningful feedback that helps every swimmer unlock their potential. We believe this marks the beginning of a new era for swimming, where data and innovation become accessible to everyone.”
The product launch forms part of Speedo’s long-term vision to redefine how athletes interact with technology in the water, creating a more connected relationship between swimmers and their performance metrics. Distributed in over 170 countries worldwide, Speedo claims to have built a reputation over nearly a century for pushing technical boundaries in swimwear, including the creation of the non-wool Racerback in the 1920s and the Fastskin LZR RACER suit in 2008.
Speedo iQ has been available to purchase online for £149 since August 27, 2026.
