adidas Sport Eyewear has announced a new collaboration with South African trail runner Toni McCann, who joins the brand as an international ambassador.
Through the partnership, Toni McCann will work with adidas Sport Eyewear on product testing and development. The goal is to develop products that meet the technical demands of trail running, with McCann acting as the face of the brand at major races.
Already a member of the adidas Terrex athlete roster since 2022, McCann is a prominent figure in the ultra-running scene. Her career includes winning the UTMB OCC 50km in 2023 and claiming the UTMB CCC 100km title in 2024 on her first attempt at the distance. According to the brand, she aims to complete a full set of UTMB finals victories, targeting a win at the UTMB 100M in the coming years.
The partnership looks to strengthen McCann’s relationship with the brand, focusing on the role of visual clarity when navigating unpredictable terrain. With a background in nutritional sciences, alongside experience as a dietitian and coach, McCann has experience to draw on when sharing her perspectives on athletic performance.
Toni McCann said “Ultra-running is all about connection: with the trail, the environment, and yourself. I’m excited to partner with adidas Sport eyewear to support me on those journeys and help me stay focused on the trails ahead.”
Originally from South Africa, McCann has relocated to Annecy, France, to support her training and racing schedule at international events. She balances her time on the trails with coaching, reading nutrition research papers, and helping other athletes achieve their trail and road running goals.
The collaboration follows the recent roll-out of the brand’s new POWER VIZN lens system, which has been integrated across its eyewear collection to help enhance surface definition and obstacle detection on the trail.
