adidas Sport Eyewear has announced the launch of its new POWER VIZN lens system, which is now integrated into every model in its collection. The system is designed to provide enhanced clarity, optimised contrast, and greater visual control for athletes across various sports and environments.
The development of the POWER VIZN system focused on four key performance factors: light conditions, terrain type, external noise factors, and enabling technologies.
The company noted that outdoor performance frequently challenges vision through shifting light, reflective surfaces, and changing terrain. The lens system aims to address these variables through a combination of base tints featuring High Contrast (HC) Technology, precision mirror coatings, and protective treatments. According to adidas Sport Eyewear, these elements work together to regulate light transmission and reduce visual noise caused by sweat, water, dust, and oils.
The High Contrast Technology aims to sharpen terrain definition, allowing athletes to read the ground faster. The precision mirror coating is utilised to reduce glare from reflective surfaces while amplifying the functional benefits of the base tint.
The lenses are optimised for a full range of light categories, including intense sunlight and low-light conditions. Photochromic options are also available, which adapt to changing environments. The system is specifically tuned for different terrains, such as road, trail, snow, and water, to improve surface definition and obstacle detection.
To manage challenges from external factors during intense activity, hydrophobic and oleophobic protective coatings are applied to both sides of the lens. These coatings help to repel moisture, dirt, and fingerprints to help maintain clear vision.
Through the introduction of POWER VIZN, adidas Sport Eyewear indicated it is reinforcing its commitment to technical excellence and performance-driven design. The company notes that vision is now engineered to enhance performance rather than just being protected.
The new system is available across the brand’s entire range, targeting athletes who require stable visual clarity and depth perception across varied environments.
