The sixth edition of the Vi Half Gasteiz triathlon has secured nearly 75% of its available entries within 24 hours of registration opening. Taking place on June 5, 2027, the event will host 1,300 triathletes in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain.
According to the event organising team, close to 1,000 triathletes registered on the first day, marking the fastest registration opening in the event’s history. Approximately half of the initial wave of entries came from returning athletes, while the remainder are first-time participants.
The 2027 race will host both the Álava Championship and the Basque Country Championship, featuring leading triathletes from across the region.
The event course begins in the natural setting of Garaio and finishes in Vitoria-Gasteiz, connecting the surrounding landscapes, culture, and heritage of Álava with the host city.
Public institutions, sponsors, and partner organisations support the event, aiding its development across areas such as safety, sustainability, and athlete services.
In a joint statement, the organisers said “The response during the first 24 hours is also the result of a collective effort. The trust shown by the athletes is fundamental, but vi half gasteiz would not be possible without the commitment of our institutions, sponsors, partners and everyone working behind the scenes to help the event continue to grow.”
