Up-and-coming, Colorado based sports nutrition brand Tailwind Nutrition, has named Verde PR & Consulting as its agency to manage PR & comms for the brand’s ambitious expansion plans.
With both companies founded in the heart of Durango, Colorado, the nutrition brand and PR agency will work together on local and national US campaigns to promote brand awareness. Under the media deal, Verde will leverage its contacts with print and social influencers. The company will aim to expand Tailwind’s relations with the run, bike, SUP (stand up paddleboard), climbing and snow sports media.
Tailwind was created by endurance athletes, Jenny and Jeff Vierling. They embarked on a program of brand development, ‘after trying everything on the market to deal with stomach problems, cramping and the sickly sweet off-taste from ingesting artificial ingredients and chemicals found in other sports drinks.’
The Tailwind Nutrition brand aims to offer athletes a simple and complete fuel ‘comprised of electrolytes, calories and hydration that is easily digestible and quickly absorbed during exercise.’ Utilising mild flavour variants, such as Organic Lemon, Organic Berry and Organic Mandarin Orange, Tailwind reportedly sustains energy levels without the need for gels, bars or salt supplments, and is easy on the gut.
