Following last month’s date and title sponsor rebranding announcement, general entries for the Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Triathlon are now on sale. Entrants have until 1 January 2016 to make the most of ‘early bird’ pricing and guarantee themselves a place for next year’s triathlon – one of the UK’s most popular.
For 2016 the event has undergone a name change, due to a rebrand of the Official Charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. Moving forwards, the event will be known as the Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Triathlon.
Renowned as being a main season opener of the UK triathlon calendar, the event is set in the impressive grounds of, World Heritage Site, Blenheim Palace. Triathletes start with a swim in the freshwater lake, followed by a cycle segment and run to the backdrop of the palace, its sculptured gardens and the rolling Oxfordshire countryside.
The triathlon offers sprint and super-sprint distances as well as the opportunity to take part in a team relay, a popular choice for many first timers. With 7,000 annual entrants and 15,000 spectators, the Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Triathlon is ‘the second largest triathlon in the UK and caters for all abilities.’
In addition to the standard distances on offer, back again for 2016, is the Weekend Warrior category – a race only for the toughest of triathletes, who’ll be attempting to take on as many triathlons as they can over the course of the weekend. All 25 of these entries for 2016 are already sold-out, with priority entrants snapping them up in less than 2 hours.
