La Fausto Coppi’s event jersey has a unique charm. As the Italian cycling event’s organisers point out, it is seen as ‘a symbol of fatigue, of honour, of value’. Every year, the jersey is worn by the 2500+ participants at the gran fondo event in Italy, and it’s worn not only during the race but during the entire season and in subsequent years.
The tough gran fondo cycling event takes place every year in Cuneo, in Piedmont, Northern Italy, in the first week of July. It includes 4125m of climbing; and with the Colle Fauniera (2481m) it offers up one of the toughest granfondos in Europe.
This week, event organiser La Fausto Coppi Officine Mattio and Nalini, the technical cycling apparel manufacturer, have confirmed their partnership for 2018. As part of this year’s apparel partnership Nalini will supply the 2500 jerseys that will be included in the race package and that the competitors at the 31st Fausto Coppi Officine Mattio, next 8 July 2018, will have to wear – as mandated by the race regulations.
The partnership has brought together established apparel brand Nalini, with its owner Claudio Mantovani, and La Fausto Coppi, a prestigious gran fondo – seen as one of the five big names on the Italian scene, with over 31 years of race history.
The new jersey ‘La Fausto Coppi Cicli Mattio by Nalini’ is a 100% Made in Italy garment – made in Nalini’s Castel d’Ario (Mantua) factories encompassing all aspects of design, fabric and production. The jersey has yet to be revealed. The Italian apparel specialist notes that ‘it will have the unmistakable style of Nalini and will be officially presented, as tradition requires, during a major event, to be held in Cuneo after the end of the Giro d’Italia.’
In addition to supplying the official shirt, Nalini will also produce a collection of high-quality cycling apparel with exclusive design for La Fausto Coppi Officine Mattio.
