International non-profit World Bicycle Relief (WBR) has partnered with eyewear manufacturer, SunGod, to release a limited edition microfibre cloth for its cycling sunglasses.
The WBR x SunGod Limited Edition microfibres, which are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles will be available from the SunGod website for a £4 donation when buying any pair of SunGod Pace series sunglasses.
SunGod will match every donation to help double the impact made. The total donation will equate to 16 Buffalo Bicycles, which will be donated to frontline healthcare workers who are working across Sub Saharan Africa to help those in need of medical support.
World Bicycle Relief’s Buffalo Bicycles are specially designed for difficult terrain and heavy loads. The charity notes that a robust bicycle in the hands of a health worker is more important now than ever to reach the most at-risk.
Zoe Watkiss, founder of SunGod, said “We’re absolutely delighted to be partnering with World Bicycle Relief. It’s so easy to take for granted the privilege of getting out on two wheels for pleasure, and so understanding the impact that just one of WBR’s Buffalo bicycles can have is incredible.
“SunGod have entered the cycling market at a time where bikes are becoming increasingly important during Covid-19; so we want to make sure we’re giving back to the communities that truly need them. WBR understand that more than anyone.”
Allison Dufosee, CEO of World Bicycle Relief UK, added “I’m so excited to be launching this partnership with SunGod today. Covid-19 has highlighted just how important bicycles can be and for some, truly lifesaving. Whether it is the bicycles we are able to give to frontline healthcare workers, or the bicycles that we donate to schoolgirls to allow them to get an education, the power of the bicycle has never been more important.
“At a time when charity income has been hugely affected by the reduction in fundraising due to cancelled events, we are relying on our corporate partners more than ever. Thank you to the SunGod team for believing in the Power of Bicycles.”
