STA hosting Free Lido Swim Area at Outdoor Swimmer Henley Swim Festival

The Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA) is offering all swimmers and spectators the opportunity to have a free swim in the Thames at this year’s Outdoor Swimmer Henley Swim Festival (July 11th). The Lido or free swim area will be off the main event village for anyone to enjoy a dip in the river.

The STA wants to meet and greet outdoor swimmers and coaches alike. One of STA’s qualified tutors, Keri-anne Payne (Olympic athlete) will also attend with fellow coaches from her Straight-Line Swimming School.

Zoe Cooper, Commercial Director at the STA, said “We are huge fans of the event and happy to be able to be back meeting open water swimmers and coaches in a professional run and safe swimming event environment.

“Our mission is to help qualify even more swimming coaches to support the surge in open water swimming and this is a great environment to have these discussions.”

Partnership Manager for the Outdoor Swimmer Henley Swim Festival, Yvonne Turner, added “The free taster or swimming area has always been a huge hit at the event, especially with the younger swimmers and those new to open water swimming.

“We are thrilled to have the support of the STA to help support and inspire our swimmers and spectators to enjoy the open water swim experience, and to welcome more swimmers into the growing open-water community.”
