Plant-based performance drink, BACX, launches in UK with Sebastian Vettel’s backing

BACX, a plant-based performance drink company, has launched in the UK, with its first product – Performance Fuel – available in two flavours and certified by Informed Sport.

Inspired by experiencing BACX nutrition first-hand, four-time F1 World Champion, Sebastian Vettel has also joined BACX as lead investor and global brand advocate.

BACX was created by founder, Jason Baits-Tomlin. Spun out of the University of Oxford, BACX has… ‘undergone rigorous development and testing, to create a high performing and healthier alternative to energy supplements, like gels and powders.’

Mixed with water, the all-plant concentrate gives nutrition to keep endurance athletes and enthusiasts energised and hydrated throughout their training and competition. The vegan-friendly product is made entirely from plant-based ingredients, contains no artificial preservatives, colours or flavours, no caffeine or maltodextrin, and is free of the 14 major allergens.

As a result, BACX claims to have none of the side effects that might be found in similar products, such as headaches, upset stomachs and energy crashes.

Used exclusively by Sebastian Vettel during the 2022 F1 season, the driver stated, “BACX products were the first I’ve tried throughout my 15 year F1 career that have kept me energised right until the end of a Grand Prix without any stomach problems or side effects.”

Alongside four-time F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel, BACX ambassadors include Team GB track cyclist Joe Truman, who is using BACX on his road to the 2024 Olympic Games.

BACX Performance Fuel comes in packs of 10 and is currently available in two flavours: Orange and Berry. The RRP (10 pack) is £23.30.
