Selle San Marco, the saddle brand from Veneto, Italy, has formalised a partnership with Eroica, the organiser behind NOVA Eroica gravel and retro cycling events.
Established in 1997 in Gaiole, Chianti, Eroica’s reach has since spread to the rest of the world thanks to the originality of its events. Aiming to rediscover late 20th-century vintage cycling, Eroica events celebrate the history of cycling and the cycling workmanship of past and present.
“Eroica is the enduring fascination with cycling, where enthusiasts explore landscapes not just with a means but with the legacy of a glorious past,” explainsed Giuseppe Bigolin, Chairman of Selle San Marco. “We are extremely proud to showcase our historic brand alongside this event, which aims to celebrate traditional and modern craftsmanship.”
Giancarlo Brocci, founder of Eroica, said “The fact that Selle San Marco ended up crossing paths with Eroica is only natural. In the beginning, when we were still figuring out how to get the idea up and running, I happened to visit the company’s headquarters in Rossano.
“San Marco originated in 1935 and made old-fashioned-style saddles. In the world of Eroica, we have always believed – and perhaps this is how we came to be – that an unknown history equates to an uncertain future. It’s a bit like saying that not having a passion for cycling strips you of your right to citizenship.”

To celebrate Eroica’s 2024 season, Selle San Marco has proposed saddles from its Bottega collection – a line that underpins the company’s history, as well as the more modern day – featuring Concor, Rolls and Regal saddles.
