In two weeks, TAIPEI CYCLE 2024 will open its doors to an international audience and present the latest offerings from the cycling industry. Taking place from March 6-9, 2024, the event will feature 950 exhibitors including industry leaders such as LOOK Cycle, FSA, Continental and FACTOR, across 3,500 booths.
This year, the show will underline four key themes: Micro-mobility; Culture and Lifestyle; Startup and Innovation; and Green Action.
This year, TAIPEI CYCLE will collaborate with Anchor Asia (also known as Anchor Taiwan) to launch the inaugural Bike Venture Program as an intersection of mobility, technology and capital. This program aims to leverage Taiwan’s technological expertise and industry heritage. It will feature: the Bike Venture Summit (March 6); Pitch and Happy Hours with the 10 Bike Venture start-up honourees ranging from electrification, and disruptive business models to ESG solutions (March 7); and Bike Venture Innovation Salon (March 8).
Prominent speakers at the show include Bonnie Tu, Chairperson of Giant Group; Kei Onishi, CEO of Yamaha Motor Ventures; Deborah Wu, Managing Director of KMC Global; and Andreas Kreiner, Head of Tech Scouting at Pierer Innovation.
The show organising team added that… ‘Hundreds of start-up professionals and tech investors are expected to bring in refreshing energy and important collaboration for the cycling industry, transforming TAIPEI CYCLE from a trade show to an innovation hub for global stakeholders related to bicycles.’
The show’s location is Taipei City, which itself draws numerous international visitors. Boasting a wide variety of dining options, including 1,454 Taiwanese, 455 Japanese, 431 Chinese and 318 Korean restaurants, as well as a substantial number of hotels, including around 20 at the prestigious 5-Star level, the city offers an environment for networking and connecting with peers from around the world.
Commenting on the show, Claudio Marra, CEO at Full Speed Ahead (FSA), said “The Taipei Cycle Show is undoubtedly the most significant international event for the bicycle industry.
“It holds this status due to its timing as the first major event of the year, and its location, which provides convenient access from Australia, South and North America and of course, Europe, makes it the ideal meeting place for key figures in the global cycling industry.”
Pascal Navarro, APAC Export Area Manager at LOOK Cycle and CORIMA Wheels, said “LOOK Cycle and CORIMA Wheels have a renowned track record for their commitment to innovative bicycle design. It seems logical for both brands to be part of Taipei Cycle Show 2024, dedicated to showcasing future technology in the cycling industry.
“This year we are thrilled to showcase our latest range of high-performance bicycles, including the 795 Blade RS ridden by WorldTour pro racing Team Cofidis, and new pedal technology to the APAC region and international cycling community.”
Calvin Chan, COO at Factor Bikes and Black Inc, said “As an international brand headquartered in Taiwan, we at Factor and Black Inc always look forward to connecting with our friends and peers when the global cycling community descends upon Taipei Cycle each year.
“Despite the rapid pace of change in how business is done, Taipei Cycle continues to provide an invaluable opportunity for everyone in our industry to meet face-to-face and collectively set the course for where cycling should go.”
