The 14th edition of Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Las Vegas got under way on the weekend of February 24-25 in Downtown Las Vegas. The event weekend, organised by The IRONMAN Group, saw more than 27,000 registered participants.
With 6,000 registered participants, the 2024 Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas 5K took place on Saturday night. The 5K saw Sullivan Clark (a 27-year-old from New Zealand) as the first to cross the finish line in the men’s field with a time of 16:58; while Glynis Milne (38-year-old from Canada) crossed first in the women’s field with a time of 19:35.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Las Vegas half marathon and 10K races took over the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday night with runners and walkers passing sights including the ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign. The finish line ended mid-Strip at The Fountains of Bellagio, steps away from Resorts World Las Vegas’ 100,000 sq ft LED screen creating ‘the world’s largest selfie’ opportunity for participants.
A field of elite athletes toed the start line in the half marathon. It was Andy Wacker (aged 35 from Colorado) who took the win in the men’s elite competition with a time of 1:04:47. The women’s elite title went to Alice Wright (29, from Arizona) with a time of 1:14:10.
