A record-breaking 56,950 runners took part in the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris on Sunday, April 13, 2025 – spotlighting the event as hosting one of the largest marathon fields in the world this year.
Organised by Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.), the Paris Marathon course took participants past some of the French capital’s most recognisable landmarks – from the Champs-Élysées to the Eiffel Tower – with thousands of supporters lining the route. Over half the field (51%) were first-time marathoners.
Women made up 31% of entrants, a new high for the event, while runners under 25 accounted for more than 10% of the field.
Charity runners also made their mark, with nearly 6,000 participants raising close to €5 million for causes including Gustave Roussy, Ligue Contre le Cancer and Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque.
International runners represented 33% of the field, with entrants travelling from countries including Australia, Canada and the UK.
Entries for the 2026 edition – taking place on April 12, 2026 – open on April 22 (early bird) and April 24 (general public) via the timeto event registration platform.
