British Cycling has confirmed route details for the 2025 Lloyds National Road Championships, which will take place in Ceredigion, Wales, from June 26–29.
Ten national champion’s jerseys will be contested across three days of racing, with the time-trial on Thursday, June 26, the circuit race on Friday, June 27, and the road race concluding the programme on Sunday, June 29.
Entries are now open for all three events and will close at midnight on Sunday, June 1.
Time-trial: Aberaeron – Thursday, June 26
The championships begin with a time-trial starting in Ffos-y-ffin, heading along fast-rolling roads to Ciliau Aeron before returning to Aberaeron. The route includes the Rhiw Goch climb.
Elite women, under-23 women, and under-23 men will race over one and three-quarter laps for a 27km course. Elite men will complete two and three-quarter laps, totalling 41km.
Circuit race: Aberystwyth – Friday, June 27
The circuit championships will take place in Aberystwyth on a 1.6km anticlockwise course starting and finishing on the seafront.
The route passes key landmarks including the Bandstand, Pier Street, Portland Street, and Victoria Terrace. Both the elite women’s and open events will be decided over 50 minutes plus five laps.
Road race: Aberystwyth – Sunday, June 29
After a presentation start on the seafront, the road races will head out towards Trawsgoed on a 23.4km loop via Y Gors and Abermad. Riders will face a 9.1% gradient at the start of each lap.
After three laps in the women’s race and five in the men’s, the peloton will enter a finishing circuit of 12.4km, featuring a technical run along the seafront, past the castle, through the old harbour and over Trefechan Bridge.
Each lap includes an 8.7% climb through Southgate and a 13.8% descent from Moriah back to the A44. The women’s race will cover 128km; the men’s race, 187km.

Rebecca Evans, Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning, said “Our country has produced remarkable elite riders including Josh Tarling and Stevie Williams.
“These championships will give spectators the chance to see the next generation of British and Welsh talent who will go on to compete in the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes in 2027.
“This event marks another milestone in our preparations for the Tour coming to Wales for the first time.”
