Continental has received a platinum rating from EcoVadis for its sustainability efforts, placing it among the top 1% of companies assessed by the organisation across the tyre and supplier industry.
The EcoVadis evaluation, which covers environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement, awarded Continental an overall score of 84 out of 100 points. The company was rated particularly highly for its performance in sustainable procurement and labour and human rights.
Anika Hannig, Bicycle Sustainability Manager at Continental Tires, stated that the platinum rating reflects the company’s ongoing sustainability efforts across the full tyre value chain. “We’re continuously driving innovation in sustainable products and solutions – including within our bicycle range – from sourcing responsibly to optimising production and materials,” said Hannig.
“This recognition by EcoVadis affirms the impact of our efforts and encourages us to keep raising the bar.”
Founded in 2007, EcoVadis has grown into a widely used global provider of business sustainability ratings, evaluating more than 150,000 companies. It uses a medal-based system – bronze, silver, gold and platinum – to recognise top performers.
The EcoVadis platform is used by buyers and suppliers globally to assess and benchmark sustainability in supply chains.
