Volunteer-led charity Women in Tri UK (formerly Fund Her Tri) has partnered with event registration and fundraising platform RaceNation to… ‘help address one of triathlon’s persistent challenges – getting more women on the start line.’
Women in Tri UK, founded in 2022, provides financial support and advocacy to help more women access the sport of triathlon. Research co-produced by the organisation revealed that women made up just 37% of UK triathlon participants in 2024, with representation falling further at longer distances. The same study found that 84% of women would be more likely to enter races that felt welcoming and inclusive.
In response, Women in Tri UK and RaceNation have announced a new platform integration designed to support more inclusive experiences from event registration onwards.
The RaceNation platform, which processes hundreds of thousands of event entries annually, will now include a built-in accreditation process with Women in Tri UK. This feature automatically displays inclusivity accreditation at key points during event registration – signalling to potential participants that an event is committed to welcoming all athletes.
RaceNation has also introduced tools aimed at reducing common barriers for women entering the sport. These include flexible payment options, mobile-first logistics, and account crediting tools that support transfers and deferrals.
“For entrants, it builds trust and the confidence to take part,” said a RaceNation spokesperson. “For organisers, it offers a competitive edge powered by visible inclusion. For triathlon, it marks a meaningful paddle, pedal and push forward.”
The collaboration aims to provide event organisers with both the tools and the visibility to foster greater female participation in triathlon – especially at longer distances where female participation numbers typically drop off.
