ASICS has launched the TOKYO Collection, a new range of footwear and apparel. The collection is inspired by the city of Tokyo, blending its heritage with its modern energy.
The collection includes two new running shoes: the MEGABLAST and SONICBLAST models.
At the heart of the new shoes is FF TURBO SQUARED foam, which ASICS points to as its latest midsole foam innovation. The company said that based on its testing, the foam is approximately ‘32.5% bouncier’ than its original FF TURBO foam.
- The MEGABLAST model is positioned as a daily trainer with a full-length midsole and is designed to provide ‘energized bounce’.
- The SONICBLAST model is designed for shorter, faster runs. It combines the new FF TURBO SQUARED foam with a layer of FF BLAST MAX foam.
The collection also includes updated versions of ASICS’ running shoes, including the GEL-KAYANO 32, GT-2000 14, GEL-NIMBUS 27, and GEL-CUMULUS 27. Each model has been updated with a new Tokyo-inspired colourway. The colours draw from traditional wisteria flowers and sunrise red.
The collection also pays tribute to the city’s National Stadium, the host venue for the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025.
