OC Sport takes over Škoda 24 Heures Vélo in France

CGO Événement has announced the sale of the 24 Heures Vélo Škoda cycling event, to OC Sport, a major organiser of endurance sports and sailing events.

The 24 Heures Vélo Škoda is a well-established event for endurance and team enthusiasts and now joins OC Sport’s portfolio. The event, which is held every summer on the iconic Bugatti circuit in Le Mans, France, brings together over 600 teams and several thousand cycling enthusiasts from all over France and Europe.

After directing the event for 16 editions, Romain Gasnal, of CGO Événement, has handed over the reins to OC Sport. Gasnal said “The time has come for me to pass the torch to allow the event to continue its development with new momentum.

“OC Sport is a solid and experienced structure, but most importantly, we share the same state of mind, which puts the participant at the centre of our organisations. What a journey it has been since the creation in 2009, what great encounters and strong moments! I wish a long life to the 24 Heures Vélo Škoda.”

CGO Événement will not, however, be leaving the Le Mans circuit. As the official hospitality agency for the 24 Heures du Mans, Romain Gasnal and his team will continue to welcome business and private customers to a reception area beside the track.

The organisation of the 24 Heures Vélo Škoda will now be handled by the team at OC Sport Outdoor France, which is based in Nantes and led by Julien Gaborieau, in close collaboration with Benjamin Chandelier, Director of OC Sport’s Outdoor division.

OC Sport, the event branch of Groupe Télégramme, is present in France and Switzerland. It will build on over 20 years of expertise in the creation and organisation of large endurance events. These include the Abalone Marathon de Nantes, the Marathon de la Côte d’Amour Amarris, the Generali Genève Marathon, the Run Mate by Core Lean Lac Léman, Triathlon d’Évian and Triathlon de Genève, the Balexert 20km de Genève, and the Foulée des Géants at Puy du Fou.

The company also organises international nautical events such as the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe, The Transat CIC, the ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE– Brest, the Transat Paprec, Le Tour de Belle-ile, and the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec.

With its geographical proximity, knowledge of the area, and the media power of Groupe Télégramme, OC Sport intends to inject new momentum into the 24 Heures Vélo Škoda while preserving the spirit, conviviality, and quality of organisation that have made the event a success to date.

OC Sport has extensive experience in cycling, having previously conceived and organised several major events in the sport, notably the Haute Route series. The company adds that this latest takeover marks its return to the cycling world, with the aim of continuing the event’s reputation for sporting and logistical excellence.

Hervé Favre, President of OC Sport, said “Taking over the 24 Heures Vélo Škoda is a natural fit for OC Sport. This development marks a strong return for OC Sport to the world of cycling.

“Driven by our passion for outdoor sports and our strong values, we are pursuing our ambitious roadmap: creating inspiring events for participants, which are sustainable and locally rooted, closer to the regions, partners, and enthusiasts.

“It is with great pride that we will now work, following on from the tremendous work carried out by Romain Gasnal, alongside the teams, volunteers, and the entire cycling community of the 24 Heures Vélo Škoda to grow this magnificent event.”

The 24 Heures Vélo Škoda 2026 will take place on August 29–30, on the Le Mans circuit. Registrations will open at the beginning of 2026.
