Swiss run shoe brand On has announced that newly-crowned IRONMAN World Champion Solveig Løvseth has officially joined its roster of professional athletes.
The Norwegian athlete secured the victory at The IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, on October 14, 2025, validating her decision to sign with the Swiss sportswear brand by running to the win in its Cloudboom Strike shoe.
Løvseth delivered a perfectly paced race in her long-distance triathlon world championship debut. Following a solid swim, she recorded the fastest bike split of the day in a time of 4:31:53 over the 180km course. This effort put her into third place as she started the marathon.
She maintained an impeccable run split of 2:55:47, the fastest of any finisher, ultimately moving into the lead with 3.2km to go. She held off a late charge from runner-up Kat Matthews, crossing the finish line in a total time of 8:28:27. The victory was secured by just 35 seconds, making it the third-closest finish in the event’s history.
Løvseth, aged 26, joins fellow countrymen and On teammates Kristian Blummenfelt and Gustav Iden as Norwegian athletes continue to show their dominance in long-distance triathlon.
Løvseth said “I’m really excited about joining the On team. I have heard a lot of good things about the whole team and how they help their athletes and just how detail-oriented they are, especially since both Kristian and Gustav are part of the team and they are good friends of mine and they have just been saying a lot of good things about On; so I’m really excited to be a part of that family myself.”
Speaking about her choice of footwear, Løvseth said “The Cloudboom Strike felt really good during the race. For me, when choosing shoes for a race like this, it’s a lot of things that are important.
“I think one of the most important things for me is that the shoes feel quite stable to run in. I’m having a bit of a wobbly run technique, I’d say in the first place, and when I get tired, that gets even worse. So I think it’s really important for me to have a shoe that, as I said, is stable, so when I get tired I won’t crack.”

Løvseth’s journey to the top of long-distance triathlon saw her transition from a swimmer and, initially, a reluctant triathlete. She joined the national team as a junior and went on to become a double European Games champion in 2023, representing Norway in Paris in 2024.
Following her appearance in Paris, Løvseth committed to long-distance racing this year. Her Kona win marks a stunning culmination of this journey so far, especially after she set the record for the fastest-ever IRONMAN debut time in Hamburg earlier in the 2025 season.
