The International Triathlon Coaching Association (ITCA) has reportedly gained approval from national governing body USA Triathlon (USAT), for continuing education credits. This recognises the overall quality and excellence of ITCA’s online coaching certification program.
As the governing body of triathlon in the US and a leader in establishing triathlon standards, events and programs, USA Triathlon is recognized globally. The comprehensive International Triathlon Coaching Association’s (ITCA) certification program was recently approved by USA Triathlon for continuing education credits for coaches, trainers and athletes.
ITCA is the triathlon coaching division of the National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) and offers a complete online, self-paced triathlon coaching certification. The program provides a blueprint for triathlon coaching success that includes training plans and options, heart rate zones, the science of triathlon training, modifications for all levels and special populations, and more.
“We are very pleased to earn this recognition from USAT – their continuing education approval simply confirms the value of our program in terms of quality coaching education,” said John Spencer Ellis, founder of the International Triathlon Coaching Association and its multisport certification. “We enjoy working with USAT and athletes and coaches worldwide who are interested in pursuing or furthering their triathlon coaching careers.”
The ITCA online triathlon coaching certification program, which follows all the rules and regulations set by USA Triathlon, offers ongoing enrollment and is valid for two years. In addition, the International Triathlon Coaching Association’s training also teaches participants the business of triathlon coaching to promote long-term success. The international program has been training triathlon coaches from around the world since 1992.
