TriBike Transport expands Ironman partnership

TriBike Transport (TBT), ‘triathlon’s first fully-assembled bicycle transportation service’, has announced an expanded agreement with World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), owner and operator of the Ironman and Ironman 70.3 brands. Under the terms of the agreement, which runs through to 2015, TBT will serve as the Official Bike Transport Partner of Ironman and Ironman 70.3, servicing all WTC-owned North American IM and IM 70.3 events.

This latest expanded deal in North America, follows TBT’s recent partnership with the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Panama.

Since TBT’s inception in 2005, the company has serviced over 40,000 athletes, ‘easing the logistical challenges and exorbitant costs of transporting bikes to and from events via airlines or traditional ground freight.’ TBT has provided hassle-free bike transportation to athletes racing Ironman events for the past seven years. This newly extended agreement will more than double the number of Ironman and Ironman 70.3 events on TBT’s service calendar.

“We constantly receive requests from triathletes to enhance our event offerings,” said TBT’s founder Marc Lauzon. “Broadening our commitment with WTC is an ideal opportunity to help reduce the travel-related triathlon challenges to a significantly larger number of athletes.

“We’ll add 18 new events in total, with a heightened focus on Ironman 70.3 races, increasing our WTC partnership to 31 total race venues. We’re thrilled to extend these new services to our customers, and to grow our relationship with WTC, clearly the industry-leader in premier event properties.”

The expanded arrangement will highlight TBT’s service, in which athletes drop off their bikes to local partner shops a few days in advance of their race for fully-assembled transport in secure, smooth-riding vehicles, thus maintaining each bike’s precise fit and overall safety.

Upon arrival at the race venue, athletes pick up their bikes at TBT’s tent, conveniently located at or near the Ironman or Ironman 70.3 expo or transition area; then simply return their bikes to the same location post-race for worry-free transport home. In addition to adding service to more Ironman and Ironman 70.3 races, TBT will work with WTC to craft a premier bike transport program for professional athletes racing at all North American events.
