New educational content at Interbike 2013

Interbike, the largest bicycle industry trade show in North America, has announced several new educational seminars that will take place during the show. The content offered at this year’s show covers a wide array of topics designed to educate attendees on relevant topics for bicycle retailers.

Registration for retailers and media for Interbike is now open. Taking place at its new home, the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Interbike will commence on 18 September 2013 and will end on 20 September 2013. The OutDoor Demo will take place on 16-17 September 2013, in Boulder City, Nevada.

“The NBDA [National Bicycle Dealers Association] has put together a fantastic group of speakers at the show this year,” said Pat Hus, Vice President of Interbike. “The value of our educational content can’t be overlooked, as retailers will learn about the latest trends in business development & growth – and I feel like we’ll deliver on all fronts.”

New for 2013 is a seminar by world–renowned speaker and consultant Graeme Newell of 602 Communications. Newell is a customer loyalty expert who shows organizations how to build deeper, more passionate relationships with their customers.

His seminar at Interbike, ‘Emotional Marketing: How to Create Customer Evangelists for Your Company’, is expected to be one of the highest attended sessions at the show. Drawing from a library of more than 50,000 best-in-class commercials, Newell will show how the world’s most successful companies transform regular customers into brand evangelists, and how retailers can build these powerful relationships with their own customers.

The NBDA-sponsored seminars feature powerful topics including how to develop a profitable pricing plan, key lessons on generating business by generation, creating customer experiences that drive sales and profits, how to survive against showrooming and more. Two notable sessions include:

  • 2013 Market Trends and Forecast for 2014 – presented by Leisure Trends Group (LTG). In this presentation, LTG will provide analytics and insights gained from ongoing tracking of monthly point-of-sales data from independent bicycle dealers as well as consumer interviews and research conducted from over 16,000 American cyclists.
  • The 2013 Bicycle Industry Overview – presented by Jay Townley, Gluskin Townley Group. Jay will present a detailed overview of the bicycle market based on the latest research and his own observations based on work in the field with both suppliers and retailers.

Also of note are the various tech clinics being offered by Shimano, SRAM, Fox, Campagnolo and more.

Complete schedules for all retailer education can be found online.

The schedule will also be available on Interbike’s new free mobile app for iOS, Android and Blackberry devices, which will be available for download in the iTunes store later this month.
