Thistle Insurance Services has teamed up with the Castle Triathlon Series as the Official Insurance Partner of the European-based series. In support of the partnership, Thistle’s specialist insurance brand Triathlonguard will be offered to all race competitors – with a 10% discount on the insurance product.
The partnership with Triathlonguard brings together two companies that are dedicated to ‘engaging and educating the triathlon community’. The Castle Triathlon Series is renowned for encouraging people at all levels to experience the challenge of a triathlon, whilst Triathlonguard works with triathletes and industry professionals to educate race participants on the benefits of specialist cover.
Triathlonguard is the official insurance partner of the Castle Triathlon Series and also IMG World Challenger Series, organiser of the London Triathlon and Blenheim Triathlon as well as the Brownlee Triathlon Series.
Triatholonguard cover has been designed with the needs of triathletes in mind and offers peace of mind for participants who are both training and competing in races. Triathlonguard was designed in consultation with industry experts and triathletes themselves, including elite athlete Harry Wiltshire.
Triathlonguard offers:
- Cover while competing, which covers bike and triathlon equipment beyond the limitations of most household insurance covers
- No bike lock requirements during organised triathlon events, ensuring transition time isn’t impacted
- Theft and accidental damage cover on bikes up to £10,000 in value
- Multi-bike discount, which allows athletes to cover up to three bikes on one policy
- Triathlon accessories covered up to £1,000 with three different levels of cover and specific clothing accessories covered if lost in a transition area
- Options for cover abroad and liability cover

The Castle Series will consist of five events throughout 2014, each varying in races it has to offer.

- Chateau de Chantilly, France (23-24 August)
- Hever Castle, UK (27-28 August)
