Hever Castle Triathlon on UK television

Hever Castle Triathlon swim start

The Hever Castle Triathlon, which took place on 26-27 September, is airing on mainstream television thanks to the long-running partnership between Dream Team TV and UK broadcaster Channel 4. The Hever Castle Triathlon show will broadcast on Channel 4 on Saturday 17 October at 07:30 GMT, and on Ch4+1 at 08:30.

2015 saw the 7th edition of the annual Hever Castle Triathlon and most atmospheric yet, as competitors took on distances ranging from the new starter-sprint triathlon aimed at beginners, (200m swim, 10K bike and 2K run) up to the challenging Gauntlet middle distance triathlon (1.9K swim, 90K bike and 21K run).

Over a quarter of the field were first timers; a third took part last year; 800 camped next to the castle and thousands of spectators lined the course enjoying the festival like atmosphere in the event village – which included a live music stage, fun fair, balloon rides, archery and shopping village.

The event was rounded off by ‘the world’s biggest children’s triathlon’, with 1,600 children aged 7-15 taking part – many for the first time – in the supportive surroundings of the Hever Castle Estate.

Future Dream Team TV programmes to look out for in 2015 on Channel 4 include:

  • The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon – 24 October
  • Ben Nevis Braveheart Triathlon – 31 October
  • River Rat Race Stockton – 14 November
  • Sandman Triathlon – 28 November
  • Snowman Triathlon – 5 December
  • Men’s Health Survival of the Fittest London – 12 December
