Produced by Always Aim High Events, the Cardiff Triathlon will play host to the standard distance race of the Welsh Triathlon National Championships in 2017.
Taking place on 25 June 2017 at the Roald Dahl Plass, Cardiff Bay, the organisers note that this is a ‘truly unmissable event with a unique opportunity to swim in the iconic Cardiff Bay, cycle on completely closed roads and run the Cardiff Bay barrage.’ Always Aim High adds that ‘The finish line and transition is like nowhere else in the UK, situated on the Plass and directly outside the world famous Wales Millennium Centre.’
To be eligible for the Welsh Triathlon Championship event participating athletes must be a member of Welsh Triathlon. Entries for the race are already open with places filling up quickly.
Athletes can also race for the official charity partner, Velindre Cancer Centre, which is offering special packages for signing up.
Over 1,000 people took part in the Cardiff Triathlon 2016 with a notable ‘99.5% of entrants saying they would recommend the event to others’. And with international television coverage taking place across the weekend, Always Aim High argues that ‘this triathlon now stands alongside other great global city triathlon events to be broadcast to millions.’
