Quintana Roo and TBI to raffle newly-released PRthree at Interbike

Quintana Roo PRthree

Quintana Roo (QR) and Triathlon Business International (TBI) have announced that Quintana Roo’s newest elite level tri bike, the PRthree, will be raffled off in the Triathlon Pavilion at Interbike on Thursday 22 September. Interbike attendees in Las Vegas are invited to visit the 25,000 sq ft Triathlon Pavilion, check out the PRthree and its cousins on display, the PRfive and PRsix, and drop a business card into the raffle receptacle for a chance to win.

The drawing will be conducted at 17:00 PT by American Bicycle Group (ABG) CEO/President Peter Hurley in the Triathlon Pavilion, located between booth #20033 and #20023 in Bayside B at the show. Six industry workshops will also be conducted in the Pavilion and a Pinot & Pints reception will start at 17:00 on Wednesday.

The PRthree shares some of the technology advanced by its series cousins, the PRsix and the PRfive – being ‘lightweight, aero-efficient, stable, and mechanically easy to work on and travel with’.

Features of the PRthree include:

  • ‘Shift’ technology, QR’s well regarded asymmetric design
  • Trickle-down aero and light-weight technology from the award-winning PRsix and PRfive
  • Boat-tail technology that increases aero efficiency and provides greater stability
  • Static Downtube Orientation for maximum aerodynamic advantage across all sizes (size specific design)
  • QBox – size specific storage system that makes the bike more aerodynamic, equipped with safety beacon that can be turned on or off without leaving the saddle – comes standard on all models
  • Multi system brake mount allows compatibility with most brakes
  • Easy assembly – ‘two hex wrenches are all that’s needed to take the bike apart for easy travel’
  • An adjustable Profile Design aero cockpit system providing a wide range of fit capabilities

Raffle rules: Entrants may place only one business card in the raffle receptacle. Business cards can be placed there from Wednesday 09:00 to Thursday at 16:55. The drawing will be held at 17:00 on Thursday in the Triathlon Pavilion.

The winner does not need to be present to win. The winner will be notified by Quintana Roo and the bike will be shipped. Shareholders, board members and contractors of Triathlon Business International (TBI), and employees of American Bicycle Group (ANG) are not eligible to win. The PRthree has a price point of U$2,500 and a race performance (carbon aero race wheels) price point of US$3,600. The value of the bike is reportable as taxable income and the winner will be required to complete an IRS form W-9 prior to the bike being shipped.

Triathlon Business International (TBI) is ‘the world’s leading organization dedicated to promoting the sport and business of triathlon.’ Founded by a coalition of industry leaders, TBI’s mission is to leverage the knowledge, talent and resources of the leaders in triathlon to the benefit of the sport by increasing and retaining advocates of triathlon and fostering a positive image of the sport.

TBI will once again host its 25,000 sq ft Triathlon Pavilion at Interbike on 21-23 September 2016. The 7th Annual TBI Conference will be on 22-24 January 2017 at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas, Texas.

Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, American Bicycle Group manufactures leading-edge, high performance bikes under two brands: Litespeed (road, mountain and adventure bikes) and Quintana Roo (triathlon-specific bikes).

Litespeed is currently celebrating its 30 year anniversary of being a high performance leader in titanium and carbon bicycles. Its titanium technology makes it the leading manufacturer of cold-worked, cycling-specific tubesets, which led to a partnership with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) to fabricate the wheels’ framework of the Mars Land Rover.

Quintana Roo is one of few international bicycle companies entirely devoted to triathlon, focusing solely on creating ‘the best fitting and most aerodynamic bikes in existence’. Wind-tunnel tested and pushing the boundaries for speed, stability and handling, its PRsix and PRfive models have been designated as LAVA magazine’s Editor’s Pick Gear-of-the-Year for Bike Technology.
