Quintana Roo (QR), which is celebrating 30 years of manufacturing triathlon-specific bikes, has today announced a three-year partnership with Team MPI. This collaboration will ‘bring more cycling training opportunities to Team MPI coaches and team members.’

QR is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and owned by American Bicycle Group (ABG). The bike brand’s new Team MPI partnership is not only a collaboration with the Team MPI coaches, but also ties-up with the team’s training camps and Team MPI-produced triathlons. It is one of a full year of activities, events and rebates celebrating ABG’s three decades of developing and producing award-winning triathlon specific bikes.
Team MPI offers individual coaching, training packages, camps, and clinics for multisport athletes and paratriathletes of all levels. Established in 2010, Team MPI has grown to a nationwide US staff of 18 coaches who work in a collaborative and mentorship-based environment to bring best practices to each athlete in their unique pursuit of sport.
The team is led by Head Coaches Mark Sortino, USA Triathlon Level III certified coach, race director, and 3x IM World Championship finisher; John Murray, a USA Triathlon Level II certified coach, race director, and ASCA Level 2 coach with 17 years of triathlon experience; and Christine Palmquist, a USA Triathlon Level III certified coach and multiple-IRONMAN finisher with 19 years of youth and adult coaching experience.
Team MPI has conducted camps for Team Semper Fi, Challenged Athletes Foundation, USA Paratriathlon and the National Paratriathlon Team, and all three head coaches have been coaches for Team USA Paratriathlon. Team MPI produces the Portofino Tri Series and founded the Jubilee Kid’s Triathlon, Sea Turtle Tri, and Maritime DeLuna Du.
