Outdoor Swimmer back in print amidst heightened interest in outdoor swimming

Outdoor Swimmer magazine is now officially back in print. Since May the magazine switched to a digital only version due to a loss of advertising revenue amidst the global pandemic. Thanks to support from existing subscribers, swimmers and new subscribers, it is back in print and ‘able to continue during this difficult year.’

After a sell-out September issue, the magazine will continue to be printed and delivered to all Supporters, Patrons and Super Patrons of the Outdoor Swimmer Family. The magazine’s new subscriber model offers reader benefits including print, digital, editor calls and a fabric ‘vintage style’ swimming badge.

Editor, Jonathan Cowie said “As the world’s only monthly magazine devoted to outdoor swimming, I am delighted that we are back where we belong – in print. We have been so moved by the support of our readers over the past few months and are now excited to see growth both in our business and the sport in general.”

The magazine’s October issue will be delivered from Thursday, 1 October. In October’s issue Outdoor Swimmer catches up with marathon and ice swimmer Jaimie Monahan who has recently swam seven times around her home island of Manhattan, New York, in seven days.

Contributing Editor Ella Foote interviews global adventurer Jenny Tough about her new book and chats to Artist Anita Klein about her new exhibition, Water. It is all about base fitness in the magazine’s SwimRun section. Meanwhile, new goggles will feature in the mag’s kit bag that fit to the shape of the face..
