UK-based endurance event organiser, Active Training World (ATW), is now offering swims across its triathlon and multisport events as part of a new event programme. The new ‘Active Swims’ will take place in both lake and sea locations and will vary in distances from 750m up to 4.5km. The first swim event will take place at Merchant Taylors Lake in South East England on Saturday May 29th.
ATW adds that it has embraced the growth of outdoor swimming outside of its event programme, hosting swims at Merchant Taylors Lake for all levels of swimmers. Now, as the company’s event programme continues to expand, launching swim only events was seen as a natural progression.
James Shipley, founder of Active Training World, said “We’re looking forward to welcoming open water swimmers to our events. We have great venues, with stunning waterways, lakes and sea areas. Our triathletes love the opportunity to swim in them; and, with the clear surge in outdoor swimming popularity, it made sense to offer them up for swim only events.”
The new series of Active Swim events comes hand in hand with the launch of an Active Swim World offering – this encompasses not only the new swim events but also swim training and access to a lake for leisure swims.
