RaceNation confirms Will Golder as Group CEO

RaceNation, the integrated event registration and fundraising platform, has announced Will Golder as Group CEO, responsible for the development and leadership of RaceNation, SportsGiving and RaceNation Events.

Having emerged from the island of Jersey as a professional athlete, spending years with Team GB as a bobsleigh driver, Will Golder joined RaceNation in a business development role in 2015. He has since established himself within the mass participation industry.

‘Recent plaudits have come following Golder’s immense impact on sustaining the business of hundreds of events and charities during the pandemic by dedicating resources and providing new features to allow events and subsequent fundraising to still take place.’

Since Will Golder’s tenure, RaceNation claims to have become one of the fastest growing brands in mass participation by looking after the safe running of over 2,000 UK events. Broadening the RaceNation offering, Golder developed SportsGiving, the fully integrated fundraising platform and, more recently, RaceNation Events to support events struggling from the impacts of COVID-19.

Since inception in September 2020, the RaceNation Events team has taken on 12 new UK events and supported thousands of event participants and their chosen charities.

John Keenan, Chairman of RaceNation said “Having known Will since his Team GB days, it’s been a pleasure to watch his journey from driving a bobsleigh at breakneck speed to driving our sports technology business.

“Since joining, his skill and determination has made a marked impact, not only at RaceNation but in the industry as a whole. By integrating various industry firsts into the RaceNation offering, it’s little wonder RaceNation is growing so rapidly. Will is the perfect ambassador for the business as he leads RaceNation’s continued growth in the UK and expansion into international markets.”

Will Golder said of his appointment “As RaceNation continues to build an industry leading offering, it’s a pleasure to be appointed CEO. I look forward to working with our amazing staff and clients in building a first class offering available to any events of any size, while continuing to support charities in maximising their fundraising through difficult times.”

In a devastating period for the event and charity sectors, RaceNation adds that it is determined to continue its support for the mass participation event and charity industries.

Throughout the pandemic, RaceNation has launched a list of features, including a virtual event offering to enable organisers and charities to host all their events, fundraising and results on one platform.

Partnerships with findarace.com and The National Running Show were designed to increase event awareness and boost the recovery of the industry, while a recent charity feature on SportsGiving allows donors to cover small processing fees meaning 100% of the donation to go to worthy causes.
