Rough Runner returns under RaceNation Events ownership

Rough Runner, the game show inspired obstacle course race, with its Travelator and Total Wipeout simulated challenges is making a return. The event is bringing new and existing challenges to Charlton Park Estate, Malmesbury, South West England, on November 6-7, 2021.

RaceNation Events, the new owner and operator of Rough Runner will be organising the event, alongside event specialist DB Max. The organising team adds that this will… ‘bring a never-before-seen mix of traditional inflatables and travelators alongside new obstacles to put the entrants through their paces.’

Following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Rough Runner was moved into administration late in 2020 – despite a six-year run of over 60 events with more than 100,000 participants raising over £1.5 million for UK charities.

In June 2021, RaceNation Events acquired the Rough Runner brand, online and physical assets and is looking to bring the event back to its past glory. Tickets are for sale online with initial pricing from £55.

In partnership with DB Max, the multisport event organiser, the first Rough Runner event will be set over two days in some of Wiltshire’s most picturesque landscapes, on a course that boasts a wide variety of obstacles and inflatables.

Jody Foy, Director of RaceNation Events, said “We can’t wait to have all Roughians new and old along to Charlton Park to experience one of the most fun events in the UK.

“There are some amazing obstacles planned for all participants; and of course, we’ll have the famous travelator waiting to be conquered. It’s been a long-awaited return but we’re so excited to be back.”
