Course records were crushed at the 75km long course of the 2022 ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championship in Sweden’s Stockholm Archipelago. Taking place on September 5th, the 16th edition of the event saw 160 teams of two competing, from more than 20 countries.
The Swedish/French duo Max Andersson and Hugo Tormento took on the race with force and beat the previous course record by an incredible 38 minutes, passing the finish line with a record breaking time of 7:00:59.
The Swedish mixed team of Desirée Andersson and Alexander Berggren finished fourth overall and became the first mixed team ever to finish under eight hours, with 7:49:54, beating the previous course record in the category by 25 minutes.
Swedes Helena Sivertsson and Ulrika Eriksson took a dominant win as well as beating the previous women’s course record by 21 minutes with a finishing time of 8:35:56.
Considered one of the toughest one day races in the world, the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championship features 75km of trail running and open water swimming (in pairs) in the wild terrain of the Stockholm archipelago.
