The first-ever Global Triathlon Awards will take place on January 21, 2023 at Palais de la Mediterranee in Nice, France. The awards are supported by a number of leading triathlon event organisers.
The inaugural event is partnering with triathlon’s world governing body World Triathlon, as well as Super League Triathlon, the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO), XTERRA, and cycling specialist EKOÏ.
According to the organisers, the awards are… ‘A celebration to bring our passionate industry together and to celebrate those within it, this international awards ceremony has been created to fill the void of recognition within the sport on a global stage.’
With entries open from October via globaltriawards.com, there will be a host of inclusive categories to nominate athletes, support staff and brands with a view to growing the awards in future to include events, media, organisations and federations.
‘Guests will brush shoulders with the triathlon & para-triathlon community’s elite, coming together to celebrate the very best in its sport.’
The organisers add that all entries will be adjudicated by a panel of expert judges from within the industry, with a shortlist to be announced later in the year.
