PaceUp Media, the endurance and adventure sports PR & marketing agency, has announced the appointment of Ben Lee to the newly created role of Running Lead.
Spearheaded by former pro athlete Tom Copeland, the PaceUp Media team comprises endurance sports athletes from a variety of backgrounds and levels. Ben Lee joins PaceUp with 16 year’s worth of industry experience, to bolster the agency’s credentials within the running sector.
Former Retail Director of specialty run store chain Run4It and Head of Run & Sports at distributor 2Pure, 2022 saw Lee found his own brand management and sales agency, Run Legacy, and adopt the position of Project Development Manager at the Running Industry Alliance (RIA).
He will head up the development of PaceUp Media’s running and outdoor portfolio, targeting running brands and event organisers.
In addition to adding Ben into the business, PaceUp Media has also joined the Running Industry Alliance, a UK & Ireland membership network which brings together various sectors of the running industry.
Ben Lee, PaceUp Media Running Lead, said “I am delighted to be taking on this role alongside developing Run Legacy. Having been working with PaceUp since April this year, as we have a mutual client, I’ve seen that the brand synergy and growth aspirations are well matched.
“PaceUp has a great record within the cycling industry and I am excited to be part of the continued journey into running. The team’s knowledge and expertise in endurance sport is fantastic and will lend itself well to the running industry.”
Tom Copeland, PaceUp Media Founder and Director, said “Ben’s experience and network will be a great addition to the PaceUp team, in an area we’re excited to invest and develop in.
“Having an increased focus on this discipline as its own vertical within the agency is an exciting step forward, not just from an experience and passion perspective but also from the crossover we see from many brands and projects we’re already working across in the endurance and adventure space.
He added, “This is an exciting next chapter in PaceUp’s development, one which has come a long way in just four years since PaceUp was founded.”
