British performance eyewear brand, SunGod, has announced an increased investment into UCI Continental team Canyon dhb SunGod – with the team changing name for 2022 to WiV SunGod.
The team, which has previously won both the sprinters and climbers jerseys in the Tour of Britain against UCI World Tour teams, has regularly competed and won at the top of the British and European cycling scene for the last few years.
SunGod joins blockchain-based investment platform WiV Technology as co-sponsor of the team. Canyon will continue supporting the team with its bike frames, with premium Italian manufacturer Sportful joining as the new kit partner for 2022.
David Rogal Head of Partnerships at SunGod said “Seeing what the team has been able to achieve in 2021, which was an incredibly challenging year was incredible.
“It’s important to us to be a central part in helping these riders, and in turn the British cycling industry, be better and push further than they have before. The talent and drive in this team is incredible and we feel more confident than ever that they are on the brink of something very special.”
Tim Elverson, Team principal of WiV SunGod added “The boys have absolutely loved having SunGod involved this last year and truly believe in what SunGod are doing differently to your typical eyewear brands.
“We’re proud to be a part of their success; so to have SunGod step up once again and help us push even further in 2022 is incredibly exciting and we can’t wait to wear both their products and the name SunGod on Jerseys across Europe in an even bigger and better way than before.”
