The partnership between Santini Cycling Wear and the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) continues to maintain momentum. To celebrate the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, taking place in Scotland this summer, Santini has created three unique kits dedicated to the event.
The new apparel will be available at Santini stands at different expo areas from August 3-13, 2023.
Santini has also launched a new UCI collection that includes replicas of the official UCI World Champions jersey, a line of summer and winter garments and a new collection named ‘Grandi Campioni’, which evokes several past editions of the UCI Road World Championships.
2023 UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow and across Scotland
Santini designs were made in collaboration with three Scottish designers. The three new kits aim to tell the story of Glasgow and Scotland, the hosts of the championships in August 2023.
The collection includes two kits for road cyclists: the Cloudscape kit created by the O Street designers, paying tribute to the Scottish landscapes, with its green forests and mountain profiles reflected in the lakes. The City Grid kit, created by the designer Patrick Hughes, captures various shades of blue and green and recalls some of the features of the Glasgow city architecture.
The Cloudscape kit features a jersey, bibshorts, baselayer, and accessories, while the City Grid kit also includes a windproof and rainproof vest and jacket.
The third kit, named Rocky is specifically designed for mountain biking. This outfit, created by Fourtwentyseven and Stuco designers, aims to reflect the lush colours of the Glentress Forest, renowned for its trails.
UCI Collection and Grandi Campioni Collection
Santini is also launching the new Santini X UCI collection. In addition to the replica of the official rainbow jerseys for UCI World Champions in all the disciplines and of the jerseys for the Women’s World Tour, Santini has devised a line of summer and winter garments integrating the iconic UCI rainbow stripes.
As part of the new UCI collection, the Italian Company has also created a new Grandi Campioni line.
“We designed five kits in celebration of five memorable UCI Road World Championships,” said Fergus Niland, Creative Director at Santini Cycling Wear. “And to do this, we took our inspiration from the posters and imagery of these events.”
The UCI Road World Championships editions featured in the new collection are Salò 1962, Imola 1968, Barcelona 1973, Goodwood 1982 and Colorado Springs 1986.
The collection consists of jersey, a baselayer, and bibshorts. A cotton leisure t-shirt is also available.
The new UCI collection and the purpose-made kits for the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships are available for sale online and in selected international cycling stores.
