After selling out in record time, the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris has a diverse field of participants heading to the French capital on April 7, 2024.
The field is comprised of 28% women, 46% of participants running their first marathon, 31% international runners, and 10% aged under 25.
Event organiser A.S.O., notes that the average age of entrants trending downwards… ‘as runners under 25 sign up in droves.’

Leading up to race day in April, the organising team has initiatives to encourage youth engagement with the Paris Marathon.
- Génération Marateens is a series of educational and sports workshops for young Parisians held every Wednesday in March. This will hold a big meet-up at the Jules Ladoumègue Stadium (19th arrondissement of Paris) on March 27th.
- Marathoon’s is a race for children aged 5 to 12, and is set to take place in Place de Fontenoy (7th arrondissement of Paris) on Saturday, April 6th.
- The ASICS Youth Race aims to spot future champions days before the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris gets under way. On the evening of Friday April 5th, in the heart of Paris, the best athletes born between 2002 and 2008 will challenge themselves and try to beat their personal best, while taking part in front of a cheering public.
