DEKA, the functional fitness event brand owned by Spartan, has added Kirklees Active Leisure (KAL) to its expanding UK network. The not-for-profit leisure centre operator will become an official DEKA affiliate this month, bringing the number of DEKA partners across the UK to more than 60.
DEKA events focus on 10 functional fitness zones that test strength, endurance and overall fitness ability, with standardised formats hosted in arenas and at affiliate gyms. The concept is designed to offer inclusive competition for individuals of all fitness levels.
Founded as a ‘decathlon of functional fitness’, DEKA is active in more than 1,000 gyms and fitness centres worldwide, with classes and weekend events forming a key part of the programme.
Four KAL sites will host DEKA events – Huddersfield Leisure Centre, Batley Sports & Tennis Centre, Spen Valley Leisure Centre and Colne Valley Leisure Centre. Event dates and registration are available via the DEKA website.
