RunSignup, a leading technology provider for US endurance events, has unveiled RunSignup AI, as a new way for customers to interact with and leverage the company’s event registration platform.
The new offering builds on the RunSignup beta AI chatbot that was unveiled in March. RunSignup points out that its new AI feature is an additive interface for its platform, supplementing RunSignup’s set of event tools with new dynamic options for custom applications and data analysis.
Currently, there are three separate areas of focus for RunSignup AI.
- First, RunSignup’s open API and secure OAuth 2 infrastructure enables customers to build custom, public facing applications. This means customers can build applications such as a Find a Race, Results Kiosk, Fundraising Leaderboards, and more.
- Second, RunSignup will have its first MCP over the summer of 2025. The Model Context Protocol enables ChatGPT to access RunSignup’s public race information to understand when and where races are happening. With AI quickly emerging as a third marketplace (along with Google & Meta), this helps to ensure that RunSignup races will be found when a local runner asks “what races are in Pasadena next weekend?”.
- Third, RunSignup will implement secure MCP interfaces to the RunSignup platform. This means race directors will be able to utilize ChatGPT to query their race information for fast, targeted reports that supplement RunSignup’s built-in reporting. For example, a race can get detailed information about demographic changes from one year to the next or evaluate patterns in donations throughout the race cycle.
