Extending product life: COROS launches repair program

COROS has launched a new product repair & refurbishment scheme aimed at reducing waste and keeping users training with minimal downtime.

The US-based sports technology company is offering a streamlined exchange programme for a selection of its GPS watch models. Users can send in a device, pay a repair fee, and receive a refurbished unit, rather than waiting for their original to be fixed.

Refurbished devices are returned in ‘like new’ condition and covered by a one-year warranty.

According to COROS, the new scheme is designed to be more sustainable than traditional repairs. Devices are collected at regional hubs – such as Irvine, California – before being shipped in batches to a centralised repair facility in Asia. This model aims to lower carbon emissions, reduce costs, and cut turnaround time.

“Endurance isn’t just for athletes – it’s for our products too,” a company spokesperson stated. COROS added that it is actively exploring local repair partnerships in the US and Europe, but, as yet, none have yet met its standards for quality, cost and turnaround time.

Eligible devices – the following COROS models are currently supported:

  • PACE 3
  • PACE Pro
  • APEX 2
  • APEX 2 Pro
  • VERTIX 2S
  • DURA

Repair fees

PACE Pro US$59 US$89
APEX 2 US$69 US$99
APEX 2 Pro US$69 US$99
VERTIX 2S US$89 US$119
DURA US$69 US$99

Screen repairs include cracked displays, scratches and backlight issues. The repair service is currently available in the United States and Europe, with the UK set to follow.

How it works

  • Submit a request online
  • Receive a return label and credit for current device
  • Choose a replacement on coros.com and pay the repair fee
  • Return original unit
  • Receive a refurbished watch

If a device isn’t listed, users are advised to contact COROS Support directly.

COROS emphasised that keeping more devices in use through refurbishment helps extend product life cycles. Software updates and long-term hardware support are also part of the company’s sustainability strategy, with the goal of reducing the need for full product replacements.
